PARTIES - Robot Party

Inspired by a little boy's love to tinker, build and invent things... it was only natural he had a Robot Themed Party with a "Build Your Own Robot" adventure!

We began building the guests anticipation by sending robot themed invitations, to make sure all of the boys and girls knew what was in store. Once they arrived at the little boys birthday party, they were greeteed by a custom made boys birthday welcome banner.

Guests were welcomed at the front door by a door banner that set the scene. This door banner was inspired by our Robot Party Invitation design. Guests were invited with the promise to "build your own robot". So many of them left their parents at the front door and raced inside.

Decorations

Simone kept her colour scheme simple using only red, blue, grey and white.

As a backdrop to her table she hung a silver tarp to the wall and attached herRobot Themed Party Banner.

Clothing

Even the guests turned up in theme! This gorgeous handmade Robot T'shirt was stitched by Handmade by Missy.

Food

Simone did an amazing job with the food and really put herself into the Robot theme. Her yummy Robot Fruit Platter was full of colour and kids were keen to sample her "Motor Oil" aka red cordial. Activities

A number of activities were available for the kids to choose from. From colouring in Robot colouring pages to building their own Robots.

A blue tarp laid on the group easily fitted into the colour scheme and also collected any little messes to make cleaning up a lot easier.

Build Your Own Robot

Start collecting boxes and knick knacks well in advance, allow for one large box per child plus multiple of accessories

• pipe cleaners
• beer bottle tops
• corks
• googlie eyes
• glue sticks
• small child safe scissors
• lots of sticky tape and packing tape
• big chunky markers
• toilet rolls
• lots of rolls of foil (you can't have a robot without shiny tin foil!)
• empty yoghurt containers
• washing up steel sponges (I know them as curly-kayes)

Don't be fooled that this was a boy's only themed party... the girls had just as much fun at building robots and playing as the boys did.

It was amazing to watch all the different age groups work busily on their Robots and helping each other. The fun part was parading them around when they had finished and the kids were really excited that they could take their Robot home!

Robot Colouring In

Simone had a number of different work stations set up with colouring pages of Robots for the kids wanting a change of activities. You can find numerous downloads on the internet for Robot colouring pages. To make Robot Paper Weights so that your pages don't blow away, wrap a few rocks in tin foil.
